Assessment

The urge to communicate is a pretty strong feature in most of us. It takes various guises and expresses itself in a variety of ways. My own life has been an interesting one, I’ve lived the most privileged of existences and I know that, I have seen and done things that many people only dream of and in that respect I count my blessings. Many of the dreams I had as a child have been fulfilled and exceeded in multiple ways, not least the dream of being a writer.

As an author, I receive extraordinary correspondence from people that is rewarding and profoundly humbling. Here is an example, I have removed some of the personal details, and I know of few more worthwhile or virtuous pursuits than sharing the produce of one’s endeavours with others; perhaps the most noble art is that of enhancing another’s life by one’s own actions, thoughts or deeds. If this should prove not to be so then, c’est la vie, I shall die a contented fool, happy in my ignorance…

“Let me share some of my thoughts with you……take them for what they are worth.

I so agree with “sending signals out to the Universe for your hopes and dreams hoping that “something” might pick up on them and respond!! Very good point, as I will explain later.

You Create Your Own Reality

Page 79….What they do have is a belief system. Don’t misunderstand, all people have a belief system, it is impossible to live on this planet, reach adulthood and not have a belief system, it’s actually part of the deal here for us humans, we have to subscribe to something.

What you believe is one of the most galvanizing aspects of your entire existence, the very minutiae of what makes you who you are. Here is something startling; does it matter if it is true? Not a jot.

should be in bold print……

Page 80…
Love the sentence “we’re going to take a trip on a magic carpet”…invites the reader to not feel this is a subject that is too heavy to read.

Page 87 and 88
Keep relating stories – like the fisherman visiting their usual fishing rounds and the positive frequency they created by becoming the fish. These paragraphs create a “picture” in your mind that stays longer with the reader and gives greater understanding to the concept.

I particularly enjoy the phrases you attribute to so many famous visionaries
i.e. Einstein’s thought “Knowledge is limited —Imagination encircles the world”

Page 85
Imagine things and they will become energized, here’s a caution-……..
“Imagine positive things, you can probably work out why, but focus upon things which are affirmative, uplifting and beneficial.

Good emphasis on being careful what you wish for, because believe it or not YOU WILL CREATE IT, maybe not pain and death but who knows?

Page 90
This is sheer poetry
“A human being is potentially a sacred dance made real and a graphic demonstration of the leading edge of where the Universe is, yet we are deprived of the full range of responses by a poor apprenticeship in the human arts”

Page91
Think about this carefully because it says that whatever you can conceive of can be tuned into and it will manifest in your life. It has been said that for a wise person to think is to create it.

Page 92
This should be in bold print
“what’s being said here is very significant. The mechanics of happiness is no less that the mechanics of the Universe.”

Page 93
Great line
“So you can see that what you know is time restricted, it has a sell by date or a use by date and if you fill your life with this stuff then it follows that you have anchored yourself to something that is limited, temporary and has no greater potential than that.”

Page 94

Paragraph “Its’ not a dialogue with spoken words, remember that the Universe doesn’t speak English, it recognizes frequency in exactly the same way that if you were in a busy market square in a country where no-one spoke English and you heard an English speaking voice you would tune into the source of where it came from and there would be instant recognition.
………. Very clear thought.

I especially relate to next paragraph..
This is true irrespective of the level of refinement or quality of the signal, like goes to like and this is why certain types of people find one another in the most unlikely of situations and also why you always get what you are looking for

This is very profound to me (as mentioned above I would explain)

You have no idea how long I have been looking for answers to the questions you explain in your book The Mechanics of Happiness. Don’t know about you Peter but there is a desert out here of people that choose to ask questions about life and why, where, etc.
I have been seeking for many years people interested in discussing such things and “Whammo”, you appeared at that dining room table.
What are the odds, you from the UK and I from the western suburbs of Chicago would meet? I truly believe, [in one sense], “I CREATED YOU”. I guess I was doing my part along with the Universe.

The very most precious thing we have in life is “TIME” how we spend it should be as much a joy as humanly possible.

Granted your book [deals with some extraordinary concepts] and brings a whole new perspective to the life we are all leading and you have addressed it brilliantly

I hope I haven’t overstepped myself in all of the above comments.
But being allowed to have an on going conversation with the author is truly a delight.

I will continue on in the book, I have always been a non fiction reader (with a few exceptions) and this book is most intriguing. I am also reading a book on “birth order” which is interesting but no comparison to the massive subject you have taken on.

P.S. Page 95, explanation of the word University, great.”

I guess if it helps someone else………..why not……………sometimes I feel we are mostly walking through life with blinders on……………how sad is that…………….there is so much more TO ALL OF THIS……..we only walk this way once……why not force ourselves to look past the obvious……………who knows what each of us will find……. could be something really joyous……………………………………………….
